Ag Logic is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (Tas) (“PIP Act”), the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We only collect the personal information necessary to provide our agricultural services, such as names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and other details you provide directly. Under section 5 of the PIP Act, “personal information” means information or an opinion, whether true or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained. We collect personal information directly from you wherever possible and will notify you of the purpose of collection as required under Part 2 of the PIP Act and Australian Privacy Principle 5.
2. Use, Disclosure and Sensitive Information
We use personal information in accordance with the PIP Act (Schedule 1, Principles 2 and 3) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (APP 6). Your information is used only for legitimate business purposes, such as providing services, managing customer relationships, responding to enquiries, and communicating with you. We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information to trusted third parties (such as IT support or delivery partners) where it is necessary to deliver our services, but always in compliance with the PIP Act and APPs. Sensitive information, as defined under section 3 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), will only be collected or disclosed with your explicit consent, or where required or authorised by law.
3. Ensuring Quality, Security, Retention and Your Rights
Ag Logic takes all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date, consistent with Principle 4 of the PIP Act and APP 10 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We store personal information securely and protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure (PIP Act Principle 5, APP 11). When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it in line with PIP Act Principle 5 and APP 11. You have the right to request access to and correction of the personal information we hold about you under Principle 6 of the PIP Act and APPs 12 and 13. If you have concerns about how your information has been handled, you may contact us directly.
